Unlocking the Future: Support Phase Two of Our Vibrant Garden

GRAPA NPO NPC, with its unwavering commitment to community betterment, is in the midst of Phase Two of an inspiring project that has the power to change lives, restore hope, and breathe new life into our neighbourhood.

What Is Phase Two?
Phase Two of our community garden is a continuation of our mission to create a haven of peace and prosperity for all. It involves several essential components that, when fully realized, will elevate our garden to new heights of beauty and functionality.

Fynbos Borders:
To protect against the elements and promote biodiversity, we're investing in Fynbos borders. This element alone requires an investment of R3,500.

Orchard Expansion:
Our garden already boasts 29 thriving olive, lime, and lemon trees, generously sponsored by GRAPA members. These trees symbolize growth and the fruitful future we envision.

Vegetable Beds:
In Phase Two, we're expanding our vegetable beds to provide even more fresh produce for our community. This expansion includes compost, seedlings, mulch, and wood chips, totaling R30,500.

Shade Cloth and Garden Trellis:
To ensure the flourishing of our precious plants, we need R10,000 for shade cloth and garden trellis.

Ongoing Labor:
Keeping our garden beautiful and bountiful requires dedicated hands and hearts. Our ongoing labor costs are R12,000 per month.

Irrigation and Security: Safeguarding Our Future
To protect our garden's sustainability, we're seeking R15,000 for irrigation. Additionally, we're in the process of obtaining quotes for essential security measures, including an electric fence or spikes along the perimeter. These measures are crucial to safeguard not only our plants but also the equipment vital to our mission.

Securing Our Haven: CCTV Cameras and
Safety is paramount. With the support of CVIC, FIDELITY-ADT is installing two high-quality CCTV cameras to monitor our garden's boundaries and the top end of Gabriel Road. This proactive security initiative, which includes installation, monitoring, and response, is a testament to our commitment to the well-being of our community. An electric fence or spikes along the fence will further enhance security, ensuring the safety of our plants, irrigation, and equipment.

Testimonials That Speak Volumes
Hear from those whose lives have been touched by GRAPA's tireless efforts:

Farayi Chikweti, GRAPA Resident:
"The impact has been life-changing on my side. I went from having street people living outside my wall; having to live with constant noise, sleepless nights because of partying and fighting, being afraid all the time at night. Having our every move watched. Having the filth right next door to us. We have had our property stolen. Now we have peace of mind and have benefitted from the efforts and support of GRAPA. It is unbelievable how hardworking and committed GRAPA is. I am truly grateful."

Michelene Toms, GRAPA Business Owner:
"The fenced-off garden area has brought with it such peace and beauty. It smells like Spring even though we are not quite there yet, but all the rain is very welcoming as the new garden is lapping it all up. I know that I don't only speak for myself but for everyone involved. Besides the beauty of the garden and its advantages to the community and public at large, we feel safe again. All the bad language, dangerous fires, litter, and human excrement are gone. Thank you to GRAPA for their tireless work in giving us our beautiful area back again."
